Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Babies trying to wean themselves off formula...

My babies seem to be trying to wean themselves off formula now at 10 months.  For about the last 2 weeks I'm lucky of I can get them to take 15-20 ounces a day.  My daughter is closer to 15 ounces.  Is anyone else experiencing this?  I've increased their solids a bit in response to them taking less formula, but I'm still concerned they aren't getting all the nutrients they need, and I'm nervous about starting them on whole cow milk at 10 months.

Thoughts?  Any advice/experience appreciated!

  • DD is 10 months and has been doing the same thing.  She's averaging about 20 oz a day.  I started giving her vitamin drops because I was worried about her not getting enough vitamin D, and I am also paying a lot more attention to making sure her solids include more protein.  I don't think there is much more we can do but hope they don't drop down anymore than that!

  • My LO is doing this with BM. I don't intend to start cow's milk yet.. there's no reason to. I imagine she would drink the same amount, if not less of that than of BM and it's so much better for her. She lets me know what she wants. Hungry (for table food) is "mmmmm!", when she's thirsty she goes over to the drawer where we keep her sippy cups, pull one out and starts to sip on it (then I fill it lol). When she wants milk she cries for me to hold her and then points.
