Worried about the most asinine things.

I've been pretty relaxed for most of this pregnancy, and everything almost ready for new baby, and am pretty chill about the rest of it.

But the last few weeks, I have been obsessing about the most asinine things. First it was what to put in the diaper bag to take to the hospital. Now I am freaking out about whether we should leave the rocking chair in DS's room, or if it should come into the living room. And things like diaper storage. And which kid should get which dresser...

It is ridiculous to worry about these things, and I hate the idea that I'm moving from one obsession to the next.

What is the dumbest thing you are worried about?

  • Whether I have baby mittens. I barely used them the first time and baby socks work just fine. Out of all the things we still need I have been obsessing about mittens.

  • If my car gets left at work because I go into labor at school and need a ride !

Also that DH will not try putting the car seat in till the last minute. Follow the list, buddy!

I ended up taking it to the fire department because DH didn't look confident that he had done it right lol

  • Figuring out what diaper bag to get. I'm sure it doesn't really matter, but it is making me miserable right now.

  • I'm not even taking a diaper bag to the hospital. My hospital provides everything for baby while there, so all I need to bring for baby is a going home outfit, which I will pack in my bag, and a soother since that is not provided.

I have been worried about when DH will build a ladder for the bunk beds. I want to get the girls sharing a room before baby gets here, even though LO will be rooming in with us for the 1st few months. Neither of my girls want to sleep on the top bunk because they are both scared of the current ladder. DH is going to make one with a small railing on it to make them more comfortable with climbing up.

I SHOULD be worried about not having a name yet. I had a dream last night that baby was born on DH's birthday and the gov't wouldn't let us name out boy after DH because it would be too difficult to keep them apart in the computer with the same name and birth date.

I also worry about not having going home outfits yet, and a new one as of today is bassinet sheets. I sold my cradle after DD2 out grew it thinking we were done and gave the lady the fitted sheets so now I only have 2 or 3 fitted sheets that don't fit well on my bassinet.

  • I keep having nightmares about breastfeeding wrong, or forgetting to breastfeed, etc. I guess that's what I am the most anxious about.

I do too, about forgetting, or running out of milk, and I've breastfed three times already! It is such a big responsibility, and one to feel very proud of.

Happened to one of my coworkers.  Her car was in the teacher's parking lot for over a week.  We all figured it was the least of her concerns, but it was a little entertaining to the rest of us.

  • whether I should wash all the baby stuff/pack hospital bag/ etc. now or wait a little while longer.  If I wait, what if I wait too long?  If I do it now, will things smell "stale" and I'll just want to do it again?

What if nesting never kicks in, and the nursery and house are still a mess when I go into labor?

When should my parents arrive from out of state-they are driving?   If I go late, will I be annoyed that they are hanging out in my house for so long before baby arrives?  If the baby comes early, will I be upset that it will take them 2 days to get here?
