I have my repeat c-section on Tuesday and I remember with my first I swelled up a lot after even though I never swelled while PG. Is there anything to help reduce it or make it go down faster? I feel like it took forever to go down last time
I'm not looking forward to this either. I came home and weighed the exact same as I did minus baby!! I was shocked. I think moving around and lots of water help.
My c/s is tomorrow. My nurse told me that if you drink water with fresh sqeezed lemon in it, it will help. She also said compression socks. I am nervous about the swelling. My left leg and foot are sooo big as it is.
My swelling was the WORST!! ugh, it was awful!!! I also had bad swelling in my legs while pregnant and was put on bed rest for that and high BP so I'm sure that added to it.
I kept up on fluids and moving around as much as possible. I seemed to be back to normal by 2 weeks tops.
The compression socks help, I'm sure, however my swelling was so bad that it just left indentations in my legs until they filled back up with fluid

They weighed me 2 days after my section because I had some complications that kept me in bed for longer than surgery day.
Sigh. I weighed hugely more than I was when I was pregnant. My legs, thighs and feet are ENORMOUS. I've been trying to drink a lot of water, move, even if it's just an hourly shuffle to the bathroom, and prop my feet up when I sit down. Slowly but surely, my elephant legs are going away.
I don't remember this after my c last time but I was also pretty out of it and swollen before hand. What causes the swelling?
Prior to surgery they pump you full of fluids.
I made sure that I drank a ton of water and as PP suggested water with lemon. I had horrible night sweats in the first two weeks so I'm sure that is what made me drop the water weight along with BF.

I was very swollen while pg and after csection it was worse. The told me to do as I did while pregnant, legs up and lay on left side. It took about three weeks to go away. I wa s too active afer my csection so it took longer thanusual
