Well, today was endo biopsy #2...'cause I had so much fun the first time!  Apparently, they didn't get any tissue the first time.  Aarrgh!  Good news is that my recurrent loss panel and saline sono results came back normal.

Finally confessed to my nurse that we will be cycling at another clinic and using the local clinic for monitoring and testing.  She seemed a bit short after hearing that, but maybe I imagined it.

So, now we race against the clock.  I'm hoping to start meds on March 14.  Tomorrow DH and I both have our bloodwork (last of our pre-screen testing) and then I just have to keep fingers crossed that I can get all the results to my new clinic quickly to stay on schedule.

Can't think of any questions right now, but I'm sure I'll have some soon!

Good luck to everyone who is almost at transfer or waiting on betas!

We had an incredible meeting with a clinic up in NY on 2/25, and we took home four, yes FOUR donor embryo files for us to look over and decide from. I think the entire ride home, every 15 minutes, I'd look at DH and scream "holy crap!!!" I can't believe that we've gone from 12-18 months waiting time, to "how does May 2013 sound for you?"

So, we're right now in the processing of deciding which embryo profile we like best. We have narrowed it down to two from the four we took home. Hopefully we'll decide next week, and we'll call them back to let them know which one we've chose. I have to go for a saline sono soon, and we both need to get baseline b/w done too. I think we're doing that on Monday just so we can get it out of the way. I'll be monitored locally with my latest RE, who the doctor in NY knows well. Awesome.

Good luck to everyone, best wishes!

SAIF/PAIF absolutely ALWAYS welcome to respond!

JM1977-thank you for doing the check it!! It's most appreciated :)

update: on 2/18 we transferred 2 good embies. The 4 we had left didn't make it to freeze :( I have NO patience so I POAS at 6dp3dt and it was a super faint positive. I've POAS at least once a day since then with darker lines :) really hoping this is it!! My RE makes us wait 2 weeks after transfer for beta, so I go in on Monday. Seriously. The. Longest. Week. Ever!!!!! I've done pretty good keeping my mouth shut. I have 2 bff's and my mom that know I'm going through this right now. It's been hard to not tell them about the HPT, but hubby wants to wait til mon for betas. I'm pretty impressed I've been able to hold out.  :) I'm hoping this weekend flies by.

QOTW: everyone in our family knows we were pursuing adoption...only a select few know about us doing ivf. Wondering if any ladies have advice on how to handle the questions I know will arise when/if this cycle works out?? I guess I'm wondering how to field the "see, as soon as you sign up to adopt....you'll get pg" comments. Because its not like this just happened naturally, and I'm still really sad that our adoption journey didn't end up as we planned or hoped.  I'm not sure i feel I need to disclose all the information b/c it's not really anyone business.

My update:  I had a bit of a setback this week...first I found out that they needed to redraw 4 blood tests (check!) and second, I'm definitely not going to be cycling in April. :(  My consultation is scheduled for mid-March and they told me to expect another 1.5 to 2 months after that, so it will give whatever immune treatments they are recommending some time to do their job.  So if I'm lucky, maybe I'll be cycling in June?

QOTW: Anything you've been wondering about (suggestions for future QOTW)? I think this may have been discussed before, but perhaps not on this board, as we're still pretty new.  That said, here is my long winded explanation for my question (LOL)...Assuming I'm successful using DE, I plan on telling my future child(ren) about how they were conceived (in an age appropriate way, of course.)  That said, I kind of struggle with sharing this information with others (aside from really close friends or immediate family), because utlimately, I don't think EVERYONE needs to know these intimate details and...thinking of my child(ren), I think when they are old enough, it should be their decision on how much information they want to share with others....so my question would be...How do you plan on sharing the details of using DE/DS with your children as well as family/friends?

Me: AMA, DOR, undetectable AMH, carrier of SMA, MTHFR homozygous C677T, high cytokines, low IGg B cells, Factor XIII V34l mutation, High Anti-Phosphatidylethanolmine, borderline hypothyroid and mildly insulin resistant.

MH: No known issues, aside from MTHFR.

Recommendations from RI: LIT, Humira, IVIG, Lovenox, Baby Aspirin, Folic Acid, Low-dose synthroid and Metformin.

Currently taking:  Pre-Natal vitamins, Foltanx, Low-dose synthroid and Metformin.

When cycling also taking: Baby Aspirin, Lovenox, Humira and IVIG.

TTC since 7/11/09..with medical intervention starting in 2010, including 4 failed IVF's and 6 failed IUI's...only "success" was a chemical pregnancy in 11/2012 (credited to use of DE).

    FET #1 (11th cycle) on 8/23/13 = BFN.

FET #2 (12th cycle) Transfer of last two (day 6) donor egg blasts on 1/22/14 = BFP, EDD = 10/10/14 (please stick little BOY!)

Hello,  I would like to be added to the check in...I am 41 (DOR) and DH is 48 (MFI) . We tried 1 IVF but cycle was cancelled because I did not respond to stims. Dr felt our OE chances at that point were about 1% so we decided to move directly to DE. We are in the process of picking our donor and are very excited.
Me:41 DOR, DH:48 MFI (low count, morph and motility) TTC since Nov 2011 IVF #1 Dec 2012 Cancelled due to poor response Pursuing DE in 2013 All welcome

we are just getting started with the DE process but this is a concern I've had. I would love to hear what others think about this one. All the articles and books I've read on it say its important to have an open and honest relationship with your kids so telling them is something that simpler needs to happen, but when?

I know one lady in person who has twins with a DE and she just told them the story of how much mommy and daddy wanted babies and how they came to be. She started telling the story at a very young age so the kids just grew up knowing like it was no big deal. They have had a few awkward moments when the kids blurted it out at weird times but other than that it hasn't been an issue.  I kind of like that method but I'll have to consider it more.

There is a pretty good article about it here: https://parentsviaeggdonation.org/disclosure.html

We have our transfer tomorrow morning.  Right now we have 7 good/excellent embryos and 12 others.  I am terrified.

I think ideas for telling the children about the donor are a great idea.  I have already been thinking about this.

I'll be 31w tomorroww, I can't believe how quickly this pg has flown by.

QOTW:  The only thing I'm really wondering about is what it will feel like to see my IP's with their baby boy the first time.  We're getting so close, and I can't wait for them to meet him face to face.

Update: I passed my lining check finally, and will have my ET mid-next week!

QOTW: I agree with others, how to talk about use of DE with children is something I always think about.

    Hi Ladies!

I haven't been around at all since the boys were born. They are 8 months 2 weeks (6 months 2 weeks adjusted) They are doing great. Both are over 20 lbs (started out at 3.15 & 3.06) They are sitting up and rolling around on the floor. If I knew how to do pictures I would post one.  Can't even figure out how to update my siggy...

I think of you all often just don't get much chance to lurk or post.

Hope all of you are doing well!

    Laura
