Anyone know what I can take for a stuffy nose - NOT Benadryl

Anyone know? I loathe Benadryl, it knocks me on my butt, with 3 kids, that's not an option. I got sick 2 weeks ago with stuffy/runny nose, sore throat, lost my voice. I'm finally feeling almost 100%, but my nose has remianed stuffy. I sound like I have a cold constantly. What have you had success with that your OB's approved? I know I could call my OB, but with it being Friday night, not sure if I'll be able to get him until Monday (since this isn't really "important", I really would prefer not to put a call in to after hours).

I have heard netti pot works great just use distilled water with it

My OB told me to use Hydrasense (another vote for saline spray). This one has a higher pressure to it, so it really gets that mucous loose so you can blow it out (it's really not pretty).

I was really hesitant to use it, because the idea of it creeps me out, but it worked SO well. I was congested for weeks, to the point where my ears had fluid in them, and this cleared things up really fast.

You can try the Neti pot and the saline stuff and see if that does the trick. But if it comes down to being able to sleep at night and nothing else is working, try Afrin.

As long as you exercise a bit of discipline and only use it sparingly [like right before bed for 3 days], it shouldn't make your congestion worse. I used it when I had colds in Dec. and Jan. and it was a sanity saver!
