LGBT parents in Texas

Any LGBT couple that's ever tried to adopt knows how difficult it is because in all but about three states we can't marry legally. This process is even more difficult in the conservative Southern states. If anyone has any tips or advice, please let me know.

    Hi welcome to the board.  I can't say that I can relate what you are going through, but some of our posters that can I am sure will chime in.  I will say I know from one of the lawyers I have worked with in the past that many LGBT couples end up adopting in states where it is allowed and just follow the adoption laws of that state.  GL on your journey.

    That blows. Sorry--- no advice--- we are lucky to live in a state where we can get married--- but we have friends in other states who have successful adopted as queers--usually, it means going through a second parent adoption process.
