So, he WAS sleeping until about 7am (bed 7-7:30pm) but it's gotten earlier and earlier over the last 2 weeks. Every couple of days it creeps up by 15 min. and this morning he was up at 5:09am. I let him cry in there, but he's wide awake and doesn't lay back down. But, then he's crabby and obviously tired.
WTD? I tried putting him to bed earlier and that just had him up earlier. I tried later but he's sooooo tired by 8pm that he's just a mess and still woke up at 5am.
Re: Waking up at 5am everyday crabby- WTD?
Can you push his bedtime later by 10 minutes each night until you get around 8?
How are his naps?
This
This works for us. And it seems recently he's been sleeping in later and later without our assistance. I think his sleep pattern is changing and maturing.
I have accepted the five o' clock wake up hour. i have tried everything to get him back to sleep during that time of the morning, but he is just ready to be up even though he is a little more crabbier than usual. it does make for a REALLY long day though since his first nap is usually at 7:30 (the time when most babies wake up)
but... he has been sleeping into the six o' clock hour over the past few days... could this be the new bedtime??
i just go along with him... whatever time he wakes for the day, is the time we start our day. and i just am keeping my fingers crossed that the clock change will be in our favor!!!
I was just about to post the same problem! Lilah has been on such a strict napping schedule because I teach at a cyber school from home, and my schedule is SO not flexible. Last week she started waking up at 6:30/6:15. We went away for an overnight last Friday, and since then her entire sleep schedule has been crap. She has been such a good sleeper, but started having night terrors again, and up around 4 every night. Today we made it to 5:30, but she was WIDE AWAKE. I rocked her for a bit, and then put her back in bed.
Nap times have been awful. Usually she goes down at 9, and sleeps till 10:30/11 ish, and takes another nap at 1. My classes are at 9, 10, 11 and 1 so this worked really well for me. The last few days however, when I put her down at 9, she has been playing in bed btw any where from 9:30-10:45. I feel terrible that she's in bed that long, but she used to sleep for that period of time. Everything was pushed back today, and she still slept for 2 hours each nap. Oiy!
