Guava Lotus Travel Crib?

https://www.guavafamily.com/travel-crib/

I noticed this was referenced in the post re: Play Yards yesterday. I was thinking about buying the 4Moms Breeze and using it as a bassinet/travel crib/play yard. Then I came across this one. Can you think there are any advantages of one over the other? I know there isn't a bassinet option currently with the Lotus. Could baby sleep on the "floor" mattress of this when she's just an infant?

Note: We also a have a rock and play and swing as alternate that I guess could serve as a solution for the first month or so of sleeping.

Thanks!

Re: Guava Lotus Travel Crib?

  • We didn't get the Lotus until LO was almost 4 months old. I will only be using it for a travel crib so I can't really comment on the comfort for an infant on a regular basis. I did test it out for a few naps though and my LO slept in it without any problems. He weighs about 15lbs and didn't seem affected by the pad on the floor. The number one reason I bought this is because it had mesh all the way to the bottom of the crib. I'm too afraid of suffocation to buy anything with the solid material that goes up the side.

ETA: When we brought our LO home he slept in his crib at night. During the day for the first month or so, we had a cradle in the living room for naps. After that I transitioned him to naps in his crib. I'm only saying this because I have read a lot of people have a hard time transitioning their LOs to a crib after many months in a RnP or swing. Just some food for thought.

  • I think the Breeze is far too heavy to use for travel. It opens and closes awesome but I think it's more of an in the house one. If you plan on closing it often and actually packing it in your car I think the Lotus looks great and the newborn option is supposed to be out in June from what I read.
  • The Lotus looks even easier than the Breeze and lighter too!
