Blood Tests

in 1st Trimester
I am pregnant wit #2. When I first got pregnant with #1, I went in and had the HCG levels tested and then retested about 2 weeks later to make sure they were increasing correctly. When I called the doctor's office this time said I should schedule an appointment at 10 weeks for an ultrasound and then see the doctor. Has anyone not had blood test??

    I didn't get them tested with either of my first two pregnancies. I'm getting them tested this time around because I had some concerns. I never get a 6 week ultrasound either. The first I will get is at 12 weeks.

    I am 11 weeks and have not had a single blood test.  I was kind of wondering if that was normal also????   I did have to do a 24 hour urine sample that I take in today.

    I asked the same question and my OB office said that since pregnancy tests are so effective in determining pregnancy 99.9% there is no need to take a blood test anymore.  They would just see me at 8 wks.

    Telling them I'm pregnant was good enough for them and first appt. was during week 10.
