So there seems to be an invisible line in the sand between the American Pregnancy Association and the European Association and the rules regarding food intake, regarding sushi, wine, some caffinated drinks, etc. and exercise levels.
I've heard two different sides to these "rules"...and the confusing thing is there doesn't seem to be a universal answer/list.
Maybe since this is my second pregnancy I feel a bit more relaxed when it comes to the idea. I'm not saying go out and smoke a pack of cigs!
No 4oz glass of red wine once per month...no raw salmon rolls during my 9mo...an afternoon cup of joe? A 140BPM is low for my low impact cardio workouts for 30min.
I'm not saying eat this every day and get wasted...no...but isn't anyone here thinking about smudging a bit?
Re: 1st Trimester is very confusing...
I definitely think people have become overly-paranoid. My mom drank coffee every day and painted the house while she was pregnant with me and I'm perfectly healthy.
I would drink coffee if I could, but it's definitely out for me, unfortunately. That's one of the ways I knew I was pregnant! An hour had gone by and I hadn't touched my beloved coffee, which was now sitting there cold and undrunk.
So, yeah. I say, just listen to your body and follow your intuition on this.
I am having a cup or two of coffee every day and my OB said it was fine.
I am not a big drinker but would have some champagne at a wedding if I attended one while pregnant.
I am also eating almost anything I want (no raw fish or high mercury fish).

I did the same with my pg with DD. I think a lot of the restrictions regarding food are overly cautious.
However, if someone really is worried then abstain. I just think complaining about what you can't have can get old when a taste here or there to satisfy a craving isn't a federal crime.
I am always a big proponent that you should eat your food.
LFAF Summer 2016 Awards:
I could see how the list could make people crazy, frankly its making me stress more than a person should.
I have been pretty relaxed about all that stuff. I have a cup of coffee almost every day now. (I couldn't for a few weeks when the thought of coffee made me want to throw up.) I have been eating deli meat since my BFP. As soon as I hit 12 weeks I will be dying my hair. I have been eating all sorts of cheese. I paint my fingernails and would probably be fine painting my house. I would totally have a glass of champagne for a special occasion as well. DH gets a little upset about these things sometimes. Not overly upset, but he probably wouldn't let me paint the house. Also, he is a little annoyed that I still drink coffee. But, he isn't a coffee drinker and it is my body. So, he has relaxes a little.
I think it might be different if I had experienced a loss before. I might be more worried about doing things on the caution list. I think whatever you are comfortable with is totally alright, obviously not including drinking a bottle of wine or doing hard drugs.
