37 Weeks- No Braxton Hicks, Not Dialated

I'm a FTM and I just had my 37 week appointment (although technically I'm 37w3d). I haven't had any braxton hicks, and I'm not dialated, although DD is head down (yay!). My OB says not to worry, but I'm wondering whether this baby is going to be late! Anyone else in in the same boat?

Right there with you (to the day actually)!!

I love my OB she's super nice and the office has always accomodated my appointment changes when I need to do them, but not a big over sharer. I know exactly what questions I'll be asked and by who.

She didn't tell me if I was dialated or anything at the last visit, and was halfway out the room while I was asking her questions.

I can never quite tell if something is a Braxton Hicks contraction or just my boy pressing up against my stomach really hard, I mean, I certainly hope I'll know when I'm starting labor, but I've never been pregnant before and since he's been a fun surprise I never did any prior research, so I'm pretty much flying blind, at least that's how I feel.

I always tell DH that the nurses always ask me if I have any questions at each appointment, but I don't even know what I don't know, so I don't know what my questions should be.

I never got internals with my first. (The doctor, I later discovered, wasn't qualified to do them, he wasn't even allowed to do more than stand in the corner and watch while I delivered). So I can't say much about the lack of dilation, but I never felt a single Braxton Hicks my entire pregnancy. The first contraction-anything I felt was the night I went into labor at 38+4.

Anything can happen.

Yup. I'm 37wks 3 days as well. Had an appointment this morning and decided to refuse the internal since the last time I was not dialated at all and haven't had a single contraction since. I feel like this is going to end up being an April baby but you never know.

I am 39 weeks and 3 days. As of last Friday morning which was 38 weeks and 3 days I hadn't had any BH contractions and my cervix was closed no dilation. One week later baby is down, cervix is open and no only do I have BH contractions regularly but last night I started having real contractions that were 7 min apart and lasted for 40 seconds so major progress. Don't get discouraged, things change quickly!

With my first baby I never had BH and wasn't dilated. She was a week early.

I'm 38w2d and I've been having BH contractions for a few weeks now. My doc let me know that's what they were when I asked today - I thought LO was just balling up to make more room for herself! I haven't had a real contraction yet though and doc said I'll know when I do. She's head down but hasn't dropped and I'm only 1cm so there's not much going on . . . oh well at least I can get another few days of full pay at work!

You are not alone! I had my 37 week apt today. Im 37 weeks 4 days and i have had some braxton hicks but im not dialated. My OB told me not to worry her exact words... "You could walk out into the parking lot & your water could break". So i would worry too much. Things can change in a blink of an eye!

As of Mon at 39 weeks I had nothing. I don't think anything has changed either. I am due Mon and have another appointment so we will see but I doubt it.
