Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Menu suggestions?

I know this is asked on here alot so I apologize if this is repetitive, but my little guy is getting ready to close in on the big first birthday! While I'm so excited and actually a little shocked its been a year already, I'm extremely nervous over switching him to all table foods. We still do mostly purees during the day and really at dinner is the only time he's getting table food (he has different sitters all week so convincing them all to feed him certain things has been a challenge). I was wondering if any of you moms out there have put any menus or meal options into play yet. I would like to do table foods instead of those like prepackaged meals from Plum or Gerber, but I guess I'm just not sure where to start!! Help?!?!?!?!?!

Re: Menu suggestions?

  • Fruits are easy, we do blueberries so there is no cutting, strawberries. I also pick up the precut frozen fruit which makes it easy. I do cheese and get whole wheat wraps, put some mustard on with cheese and you can add meat and just cut it up tiny.  They can chew with their gums and swallow.  Last nights dinner is also usually lunch the next day.  Beans are easy and good too.

  • At this point, DD is eating pretty much whatever we eat (within reason). She usually has eggs, yogurt, oatmeal or banana for breakfast and then lunch meat and cheese for lunch on the weekends. Today at daycare she had ravioli, green beans and applesauce for lunch. whatever DH and I have for dinner is what she has as long as it's not spicy or anything.
