Babies: 0 - 3 Months

2 month vaccine question

How long was your LO fussy after receiving their 2 month shots? Mine had his on Tuesday and he's still not acting like himself - no fever... just way fussier than normal... help.

Re: 2 month vaccine question

  • Mine was not fussy at all, never got a reaction from the vaccine. But our doctor said the reaction could take a day to manifest and take a few days to pass. It's only friday. It has only passed 2 1/2 days. Also my baby got fussier later but because this is the time they start to get more collicky. Maybe your baby is getting other age reasons to be fussier and not just from the vaccine. And their personality changes from week to week. Nonetheless, trust your mother instinct and refer this to your doctor, if the fussiness persists.

Best of luck to your LO!

  • My LO was fussy for 3 days, slept a lot, and when she was awake she would cry on and on. Never a fever though. Just be patient and he'll get through it :)

  • DS just slept the entire day that he got his shots. He would cry a little bit if he woke up, but that wasn't often. He never got a fever and was happy the next day.

I had the same thing, no fever just really fussy.  She got her shots on Monday and today (Friday) she finally seems like she is more back to herself.  I was really surprised because my son didn't seem to be affected at all.

  • My DD got her shots yesterday and she seems mostly back to normal...a little fussier than normal, but nothing major. She hasn't had a fever yet...hopefully it stays this way!
  • Thank you all for your notes!
  • My little man has his yesterday at noon. He wimpered and was super fussy all day and evening. We still did our night time routine, and he still slept through the night. We gave him some tylenol before bed. Today he has been his normal self, but was running a slight fever of 100.3. I know babies can get a pretty painful knot at the injection site (just like adults), which can be painful for days. My advice is next time, vigorously massage the leg to spread the medicine around in the muscle. This will help so the knot doesn't form where the medicine just sits.

  • It doesn't help much that right around the time of the 2 month vaccinations (7-1/2-9-1/2 weeks old) baby is going through a pretty rough Wonder Week where they are more fussy than usual!!
