TMI/Code Brown/Contractions?

TMI Alert, but definitely need input! Background, I'm almost 27 weeks and this is about the time I started having BH contractions when pregnant with Abby. Fast forward to this week. All week I've been having 2-3 bouts of diahhrea a day. This morning about 5am I woke up with a contraction -- feeling like severe diahhrea cramping, but didn't actually have to go to the bathroom. These contractions happened about 3-4 times in an hour and then by 6:30am had to go to the bathroom. It's 7:15am now and I've had two more contractions, but no need to go to the bathroom again. I don't think this is just stomach issues. Call the dr or wait it out a little bit longer?

  • Unless they're close together for a consistent period of time or your water breaks I wouldn't bother with the doctor. It's normal. Just try not to walk around too much and make sure you're drinking plenty of water.

  • Is the rule to call if its more than 4 BH contractions per hour? I might call because its Friday and if it gets worse over the weekend then you don't want to go to LD? I don't know! Sorry I'm not much help, but good luck!!

This is what I was thinking - especially if they're not closes together consistently. I already called into work, so hopefully I can just take it easy today and they go away.

I would go in today to avoid an unwanted trip to L&D over the weekend.

I agree! It can't hurt to call, Kujay.

  • My rule is to always just call! Why not?

You might be dehydrated from all the pooping, which could give you more contractions. Just keep resting and try to hydrate as much as you can.

  • Call the doctor!

Its probably not a problem, but if it is a problem its better to get it shut down asap. When I started having regular contractions at 28 wks with E, my doc took it pretty seriously. Best to get checked out.

  • I had bad BH with B, my doctor told me that if I had 4 or more in a hour for more than 2 hours then you should get checked out. If after 2 hours they have stopped then I think you are good to go.

  • So I didn't call the doctor this morning, because by 7:30am they had stopped. Well at 9:30 they started again -- and I hadn't been doing anything but sitting on the couch and drinking water. So I just called the doctor and waiting to hear back.
