Babies: 0 - 3 Months

where is the EASY method?

before i start ferber at 6 mo. i want to make sure i have exhausted all other options.  its hard to believe that in the 12 books i now have at my house there are other methods but i am now looking for the baby whisperer book and any others i haven't gotten my hands on yet.

Re: where is the EASY method?

  • It is found in Secrets of the Baby Whisperer.

  • EASY is the babywhisperer.  I found her second book helpful - baby whisperer solves all of your problems.  Not that all my problems are solved... but it was more specific than her first book.

  • Baby Whisperer

    E.A.S.Y in an acronym for:

    E - eat

    A - activity

    S - sleep

    Y - time for you

  • It stands for eat, activity, sleep, you time.  Just a basic routine...we've been doing it with DD for a few weeks and love it.  She has been sleeping so much better.  I highly recommend reading her book.

  • call me naive but dd "learned" how to sttn because at night we keep the house more quiet and dim. i was very calm with her at night from the beginning. she goes to bed at 830 every night and sleeps until 5 and wakes up to eat and a diaper change and then she knows that since it's dark and quiet that it isn't time to wake up for the day yet. around 9 she wakes up for the morning and then is down for her first nap at 11.
  • I also recommend it.  It's awesome.  Her cry chart is pretty sweet too! Perfect for when Charlie was a newborn and I was learning his cues and his cries.

Have you read Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child? I really like that one too. He talks about Graduated Extinction (Ferber) in there too.
