thyroid issues

 dr says i have thyroid antibodies & wants me to start taking synthroid 25 mcg daily.  Does anyone take synthroid for thyroid?  Whats your experience?  I am really nervous about taking it.  He said that If i were to get pregnant I would stay on it....which also makes me nervous.

    Auntie on the special needs board takes a thyroid medicine. Grant is starting one now, and she said it was nbd.

    I took it for about 56 years then I got pregnant, my levels leveled themself out, I didn't need them while pregnant and even up to now. Honestly its nbd, I actually felt better, I wasn't as tired anymore, not moody, it because routine to take them every morning for me.

    Same as jju_stb_jju (except for less than 56 years!  love mobile bump) I took it pre baby and haven't needed it since about 30 weeks pregnant.

    I take them everyday, a much much higher dose and it doesn't do anything adverse to me. In fact without it I am a miserable mess. I can't sleep but am exhausted all the time I can't remember anything and get wicked depressed. I took it all through my pregnancy because I have to and it doesn't do anything harmful to the baby. In fact if I didn't take I would have miscarried it's one of the reasons I did before. It only provides the correct amount of hormones that your baby needs to grow. It only simulates something your body is supposed to regulate or produce on its own. If you have questions you can always ask me, I did a ton of research when I was diagnosed.

    Thanks ladies. I feel better about taking it. I am constantly tired so I am hoping this will help.
