2nd Trimester

Napping at work?

Anyone else find that they have a nap time at work?

Mine is 1:45.  I fight it from 1:15 - 1:45 and then I pretend to read something while my head rests on my hand.  Then at about 2:15 - 2:20 I wake up, kick it into gear and actually start working for the day until 4:30.

Re: Napping at work?

  • Yeah, I could go for a nap right now.  I'm so tired today.

  • I've done it once (a few weeks ago) - I have a blanket in my car for these situations...I napped in my car (since I park in a parking garage for an hour) - it was HEAVEN!

  • That would be nice, but nurses dont get nap time.  Not only that, but I also have to pretty much be on my feet for 8 hours at a time.  Turns out being a pregnant nurse pretty much blows all around!

  • Okay- I have to know what you do for a living that you can get away with this. That's awesome!

I could disappear into a quiet, dark side conference room if I had to, but if my supervisor (who works in an other office) needed me for something, she'd try me at my desk or via email, but then call the people who sit near me to find out where I am, so I'd eventually be found out. It's a small office, so if I disappeared for a half-hour, people would ask.

  • oh, I wish!

there's no rest for the weary here, though.  Lucky you!

  • I work in the Legal department for a large corporation.  And I am in cube world so I probably shouldn't be napping, however I don't care.  Both of my bosses are super cool and would laugh at me if they saw me napping.  I just make sure to look like I am reading a big long legal document! lol
  • LOL. I tried it but I answer the phone and my boss called once and said you sound like you were sleeping.
  • i need to permanently attached a pillow to my keyboard to keep my head from slamming against it when the after lunch food coma kicks in!

  • i have a yoga mat and blow up pillow in one of my drawers...when the urge hit (1st trimester) down I went for at least 1/2 an hour.

( I run a satalite office, so I am the only one here on a daily basis) I was convinced I was being videotaped though...but I still have my job so I was just crazy.
