speaking of recruiters...

looking at the post below...

how do you hire a recruiter?  i don't have an industry, so I don't know who to contact.  But I really want a new job, and I would love some additional help looking.

How do you pay them?  the time they work for you?  Only if you get the job they find?

TIA

Re: speaking of recruiters...

  • I'm a corporate recruiter, but you don't have to pay a head hunter.  The company pays them to find candidates.

  • You don't actually hire them.  You just work with them to find a position and they make a % of your salary if you stay in the position for six months (or this is the typical arrangement).  If you are looking for one, I'd start by searching the web on job sites (monster.com, etc).  Normally many of the listing are from recruiting firms and you can find their contact information on the job posting.
  • I don't have additional resources for recruiters, other than speaking to people in the industry and seeing if they have regular contact with recruiters. I can say I highly recommend them- DH has been placed twice by a recruiter and they've been great opportunities. And once you establish a relationship w/ a recruiter, they'll continue looking for jobs as you advance in your career.
