Ok, I'm back and I'm posting. Who here still uses their monitor? I find now that she is older, I check it less and less often and now That i have moved it somewhere where she can't reach the wires I can barely see her when I do. I can't believe there will be a time when I don't monitor her sleep. BTDT moms, when did you get rid of the monitor?
Re: Monitors
I still use it for both naps and bedtime! BUT- if he wakes in the middle of the night to fuss, I will turn the volume off and set my alarm for 10 minutes later to let him go back to sleep on his own. Sometimes this happens 4-5 (ok, maybe 6) times in a row, as long as he's not really crying I leave him. I just like to know what he is doing at night. sadly, there have been a few mornings I wake up about 4-5 and realize that the monitor volume is STILL off, and I feel like the worst mommy even though he is sleeping happily!
I am a lot more lenient with it, though, like if he is sleeping, I don't carry it around the house and constantly flick on the screen to make sure he is asleep.
I am kind of excited for when he gets older and he starts sneaking out of his 'big boy' bed and we can spy on him, lol!
this and this!

Yes to all of this.
This. We just use it at night. If she cries in her sleep we usually let her go for a few minutes and she soothes herself.
