Please tell me if I'm being silly! My c section is scheduled for 10:30am. My inlaws told my husband ok we will stop up around 2 when you get to your room!
I feel bad for my husband b/c my family will be waiting and giving us a hug before we go back to the surgery! My family will also see the baby right away in recover. Grrr so rude
Re: Inlaws!!!!
theres nothing rude about that?
im pretty sure some moms on here would be begging to have your problem! i hope your husband isnt hurt that his family wants to wait until youre settled, but that sounds great to me that they're going to give you your space to bond as a family before they step in, especially if this LO is your first.
but if it genuinely upsets you/your husband you could always tell them you wouldnt mind them coming earlier if they want. they may just think that this is what you would want. now that ive been pregnant and thinking about having people all up in my face immediately after baby is born, it will be my MO from here on out to give the new family some time before showing up unless asked to come sooner or it was clear that its what they want.
edited: i didnt answer your question. yes, i think youre being silly.
This. Actually our hospital will not let anyone but spouses and siblings into recovery to aid with bonding time. We would have preferred to have people wait a little while even once we got out into a normal room. Remember that you are having major surgery and may be in pain and/or a little out of it. You will more than likely be confined to bed with an IV, eepidural, and a catheter in a thin hospital gown and nothing else!
Seriously, though, speak up and ask for what you want because I bet they are just trying to be considerate. And ease up, stop comparing. Also, what PP said: you are undergoing major abdominal surgery and disorientation, shaking, vomiting and pain are real possibilities for the 6090 min post op. Not certain, but my point is that you may find you need some
time and visitors later might be better.
Honestly, you're scheduled for a 10:30 section and they're coming at 2pm? They probably won't be far off from when your parents actually get to spend time with the baby. With all my SIL's csections, the actual section has gone fast, but then she's usually in some sort of recovery for a while, then she gets to spend time with the baby, then they move her to her room, etc. It takes a while. Your parents are most likely going to be waiting around for a while.
I think your inlaws are being super respectful.
