Twin size mattress for my Toddler's New Bed

Hi,

I tried the search function and of course, could not get it to work - so I hope I'm not duplicating a recent post. 

I'm in the process of setting up my toddler's new room.  We have ordered the bedroom set with a twin bed.  I'm now in the process of searching for a mattress for the bed.  The bed comes with wood rails as a base - so I'm primarily searching for a mattress only (no boxspring required).

I know it needs to be "firm" -- but does anyone know what other qualities I need to be looking for?  Any recommendations based on experiences here?
