I had an unplanned c-section with my daughter last monday. It took them more than an hour to get the spinal placed. Throughout the process of trying to get it placed I had pain at various times shooting down my leg, in my groin, and in my lower back due to it not being in the right place. They kept hitting bone each time and only got it placed after one of the anesthesiologists mentioned that the next step would be to put me out completely. I ended up with a massive brusie on my back that has been tender since then. I still feel a fairly sharp pain in my spine when bending over or moving just right. What are the odds this is going to go away anytime soon? I never had any problems from my epidural from my first birth.
Re: Lingering Back Pain from Spinal?
My spinal was improperly placed, leading to me needing general. My back, if touched just in the right spot still hurt 7 months later. Actually, I just had an epi with my vbac, my back still hurts, epi was also improperly placed.
but I don't think I am the norm. My anesthesiologist said I have undiagnosed scoliosis, which I believe is from a back injury in high school. Months after I had dd, I saw my doctor about the pain. He said my spine had been bruised.
