Need ideas from the crafty and creative

My SIL is having her first child in July and will be decorating her nursery with the alphabet. She has assigned letters to various friends and family and our letter is "J" (DS' first initial). We're supposed to try and be creative...we could decorate a wooden letter or find another object that looks like a J. Below is a picture example she gave.

Any fun ideas for the letter J?

Ha. Not only 26 people.....another 10 people as she assigned numbers 0-9 as well. She didn't want people to miss out on the opportunity to be a part of it. Big Smile

I'm with you - wouldn't have done it myself, but I'm trying to be supportive.

Do you know what she is having?

You could do this general idea with just a wooden letter from the craft store instead of the whole framed thing...

Probably a little more boyish - but you could use different colored cars to match the rest of the room.

That's definitely a neat idea. She doesn't know what she's having. The walls are yellow and there was no color scheme for the letters so we can do whatever.

I don't have a picture reference, but how about a slide in the shape of a J? I'm also slightly rolling my eyes at the idea of her assigning people to decorate your nursery, but to each her own, I suppose.

My cousin had a B made for B's first Christmas. It is wood on the back with designed plush fabric on the front. It would be nice because you could pick what ever material you want for the design and I think it looks great on his book shelf

We covered DD's letters with scrapbook paper. Not creative, but it gives you a lot of options.

This Etsy shop makes pretty cool wooden letters. You could have them make a cool "J" then paint it.

ETA: If I assigned my friends and family to do this, I am almost certain they would all drive to Hobby Lobby or Michaels and I would get all the same letters, lol.

That's why I'm expecting most people will do which is why I'm trying to put a little more thought into it.
