So, Corri had her developmental follow up this morning. This is the first appointment that took place at her actual age rather than her adjusted age and it went great. They were extremely impressed with her fine motor skills and cognitive development. Two things that apparently are extremely impressive were her writing skills and her ability to recognize something being wrong with a pattern. The therapist put a piece of paper down with 5 shapes printed on it and then handed her a new shape each time to put on the paper, which she did. Then she handed Corri another triangle (there was a square missing a paper piece on the sheet)...Corri looked at the triangle in her hand and was like, "No, where is THAT one (pointing to the square on the paper)"...blew our minds, lol! Also, they would draw a line and have her copy it, and then a circle, and then she drew a cross (line down and then line across) and Corri did that perfectly too and apparently that's a huge thing because not all three year olds can come back to the midline and do that. She's also 99% sure Corri is a righty, which I figured.
Overall, they told me that she is at a 3 or 3.5 year level for almost everything, with a few 4-5 year old skills thrown in, and you would never know she was a 30 weeker...my baby is officially a NICU graduate, and mommy is proud!
