Dose anybody know were I can got to purchase blackout curtains? I have looked and can't seem to find them. Even on ebay, there is only 2 blackout curtain items but they want to much for shipping. please help!

Re: Babies Room

  • I have two from Pottery Barn Kids and they are wonderful... I'm not sure if it's the actual curtains or the fact that I have them on a rod that's a tiny bit longer than the window, but the room is pitch black all day long... I know the Pottery Barn ones can be pricey but they might be worth it for a few years of good sleep :

  • Pottery Barn Kids has a good selection. I've also seen them at jc Penney, target, Walmart, bed bath & beyond
  • My mom said she found them at Babies R Us.

  • I was a night shift nurse for years and I got a black out roller shade for my bedroom for cheap from home depot. It is a shade so you can still have nice curtains if you want :

  • we got red black out curtains from wal-mart for the baby's room. They seem to work pretty well (baby's not here yet) - they were about $10-12 dollars a panel. I've seen them online at target too.

  • I bought these and they seem to work well!

  • Mine are from Pottery Barn too.
  • I don't know where you live, but we bought our blackout curtains from Meijer. I'm pretty sure I've seen them at Target as well.

  • I got mine from Target. I mounted them on a spring rod so they fit inside the window frame and block out more light. You can't see them behind the curtains.

  • I have just a thin blind on the window in the nursery and I think it works fine for DS.  I don't want him to rely on a pitch black room to sleep.  He's able to sleep fine during the day no matter how bright it is.

That said, I do have blackout curtains I ordered from JC Penney I think; I ordered them online.  It was a two pack and they have been great, I got the kind that attach to the back of your existing curtains so you don't have to lose the decor in the room just to have it dark.  I have them up in my bedroom. I think they were $15-17 for a two pack with minimal shipping costs.

  • I know you're looking for "curtains" but I have another suggestion for you. The shades we have in all our bedrooms are Levolor cellular blackout shades from Lowes. They cut them to the size you need. The two best features of these shades are that the cellular feature is good for temperature control (keeping cold out in the winter and heat out in the summer), and the ones I bought are cordless, so there's no danger for children.

Plus, if you have a Lowes or Home Depot nearby, you can buy them for no shipping at all!
