Period like cramps

38 weeks today. Was told yesterday her head is very low. I've been experiencing period like cramping. Not really too intense, but def feels like I'm
about to get my period. I know people say to time them, but they feel like they don't go away and are fairly constant in a dull ache kind of way. Anyone experience this?

    Yup, I get that all the time. They started off that way for me. Now they are horribly strong and come and go.

    Yes, they started this week for me. It gets so bad that sometimes I can't walk but they're not exactly "timeable". My OB wasn;t concerned and said it's just the body getting ready for labor.

    I have had this since about week 36 and I am now 39 weeks. My doctor said this is my body preparing for labor.

    I get them, and often back pain at the same time. It feels just like I'm going to start my period. I felt this way last week and when I went for my appt, I was 2cm dilated. My doctor said my body is just getting ready.

    I've been getting them on and off for the last few weeks as well. I've also been getting butt pain (that I always get when I have my period) and some lower back pain as well. I've quit telling DH about my pains because he automatically takes out his phone to start timing contractions with the iPhone app he uploaded. But they're not timeable because they're not contractions! He's had two children before so he knows what contractions are like but it's been a lot of years and he's super excited for our new LO...so I guess that's why he keeps jumping the gun on timing what he thinks might be contractions. I've just come to realize that it's my body prepping for labour.

    I started having that on Monday and found out yesterday that my cervix went from hard and thick to 70 effaced.
