Scariest day of my life...

So I work on a community college campus in Connecticut.  Today we got put on lock down for a possible gunman on campus.  I was trying to keep my students calm...but all I could think was if I get shot, what will happen to my daughter?  My DH is in Asia on business and we don't have any family around here.  I wish crazy crap like this would stop happening on campuses.  Gah.

    Oh my gosh!  I am glad you are okay, thats some seriously scary sh!t.  What happened to the gunman?

    I work at a CC but we have 3 campuses. Nothing ever happens on mine but we also have the county police academy. The other 2 campuses have armed gunman or creepers in the women's room it seems like all the time!

    I walked into the middle of a police training one morning and someone popped up with a gun, scared me so bad!

    Thank you.  We're not sure about the gunman yet.  Nobody was injured and they aren't releasing information yet.  Today was stressful so I'm watching reruns of HIMYM to make me feel better...

    Huge hugs! Glad you are okay. I can't even imagine. How crazy. The community college in my town was closed today, too. The news said there was bomb threats coming from the women's bathroom.

    I'm so sorry.  I can't imagine how frightened you must have been during all of that.  Hugs to you and your students.  NPH will make you feel better.  You can dance with him in my siggy, too.

    How scary. I'm glad everything turned out ok. That's my biggest fear as a teacher.

    I've always said that about teaching too morsey. We've had several bomb and gun threats over the years.  They are so scary!  Hope everything is ok!

    He makes everything better!  Seriously though, stuff like this really puts life into perspective.
