I am 29 weeks, and have been followed by an OB who I recently found out has a policy flat against VBAC. I met with the Certified Midwife at a different hospital regarding candidacy for VBAC, overall she says that I am (if pre-e stays away), but wants another consult regarding a per-existing pituitary adenoma. So, I need to get my MRI records (which will take 2 weeks) and then consult with my previous high risk OB (which will take 3 weeks to get an appt) before officially transferring care. I'm really hoping that if I jump through all these hopes the VBAC will be successful. I'm now doubting whether to even attempt it, the midwife did say it would be a shame to switch providers and then end up with a RCS anyway.
I was so committed in theory to VBAC but now that I have to make the decision I'm starting to waffle. Anyone else on the fence? Or attempted a VBAC & ended up with a RCS?
Re: I'm hoping a VBAC is worth all this!
I just had my vbac and at times I kind of felt like it might not be worth all the hassle, but after the vbac I was soooo happy and glad I did it! Totally worth it I think! Even it ends in a repeat section, you'll know that's the way it had to be. If it ends in a successful vbac, you'll be so glad you tried and succeeded! The experience was totally different than my first (csection after very long labor) and the recovery alone has been completely worth it! I even had an episiotomy with #2 and still the recovery has been fabulous compared to the csection!! Go for it!!
