  That's weird!! I went in for my 39 week appointment and he didn't even do an internal!! I just moved from az back to jersy so I have a new doctor. He is so weird and when I asked for one he was like it doesn't matter if you are dilated or not , we don't do anything different!

  That is strange, if it makes you feel better, I am not AT ALL dialated

  I went from 1.5 back to 1, which I've been at since 35 weeks...BUT, baby dropped, so I'm trying to focus on that, and not un-dilating, even if it was only half a cm!

  I have been 2cm for a while and nothing has happened. I am also overdue!! It doesn't mean anything.

  I was not dilated or effaced at all last Tuesday, and I went into labor Wednesday night and had our baby Thursday night.  Try not to obsess over the amount you are dilated, although I know how difficult it is! It will happen soon enough!

  The midwife asked if I wanted to be checked. I declined. Honest ...I love the laid back approach. She looked at me and said "it doesn't mean anything, anyway."

  yep, it happened to me. Dr. said it depends on how baby is positioned that day. Your LO may not be engaged in your pelvis yet that is why your not dilated?!?!?
