DD8 slept over at her cousin's house 2 weeks ago for part of her birthday celebration. Yesterday DD asked if I would check her hair for lice. I asked how she knew about lice. She informed me that her cousin (also 8) had "a little bit of lice," when she slept over. BD and I have virtually no contact, his choice. I want to read him the riot act for letting his sister host this sleep over knowing her child had head lice. I know it will fall on deaf ears and would be wasted energy. I dislike allowing her to go in the first place as cousin has awful manners and dresses provocatively. Should I say something the next time she is invited? Not let her go again? I don't want to punish my daughter for things beyond her control but I am disgusted by this. WWYD? I have NO contact with ex SIL.
Re: Venting... and head lice
As a hairdresser I see lice all of the time and it grosses me out how lackadaisical parents are about spreading it. "Oh its just some nits, we've been treating it." Ummm, gtfo of here until its gone. Don't send your kid to go spread it to other kids.
