3 month nighttime heavy wetter

DD is 3 mos and finally doing well at night, sleeping some nights up to 10 hours.  So, the last week or so, she's been having massive pee blowouts almost every morning because she holds it all night and it all comes out at once, shooting pee up the back and soaking the diaper way past what it's able to hold.  We're using Pampers Swaddlers right now. She's in NB size still, I tried the size 1s on the other day and they're still too big, I think because she's got a teeny little waist.  Does anyone know of any NB sized diapers that might offer a little more protection? The Pampers Baby Dry doesn't come in a NB size, or else we'd give those a shot.

I guess holding it all night will be a good thing once it comes time to potty train, but for right now it's just a mess of peed on onesies and swaddles.  Thanks for any suggestions!

Re: 3 month nighttime heavy wetter

  • Swaddlers tabs are made to overlap. Give the size 1's a try.

My LO just hit 3 months and is super thin. He has been wearing size 1 during the day and size 2 at night. Pee isn't really our issue, although he seems to hold his at night as well, he has never leaked pee. Our issue is massive poops. He is a frequent pooper and there's lots of it...

  • Although they seem smaller to me, Huggies Lil' Snugglers are working well for my daughter who seems to have this same problem. She wakes up with heavy wet diapers, but no leaking out of the diaper. There seems to be an elastic band in the back that holds the wetness in.

  • Thanks, I'll try out the size 1s again to see how they work.  I think the elastic band is what we need.  There's none on the Swaddlers, so if she has a massive pee or poop, which is usually in the morning, there's nothing to hold it in.
  • My daughter is small enough for newborns still, but at night we had to switch to size 1s because we were having similar problems with pee leaking out. We've been using Luvs and I really like them...we've not had a single leak with them, and you can overlap the tabs on them too if they are too big

  • Usually whenever DD1 had a blowout or overflowed her diaper with pee more than 3 times, we went up a size. It's a pretty good indicator that they need to.

  • Pampers Baby Dry say they protect up to 12 hrs. DD wears them overnight and hasn't had any issues.
