So disappointed...

So last night I started having contractions. They were 5 minutes apart and lasting 1 minute, plus getting worse as time went on. I called my MW and went to the birth center. Turns out, I'm only 50% effaced and not even dilated. He wasn't engaged at all. My husband and I were super disappointed as we made our way back home. 

This morning I've been having menstrual-like cramps all day, more contractions, an increase in discharge, and pressure in my bum that makes me feel like I need to go to the restroom, yet I can't. I have no idea it this is just late pregnancy or the beginning of something.

I'm hoping he'll make his appearance soon.

    Sorry!  I had contractions all day yesterday, all night, and then they stopped this morning when I got out of bed.  Thought for sure I'd be holding a baby today.  Frustrating!

    I've been having 4-5 contractions an hour since Thursday night.  I hope you have better luck than I'm having.

    The nice thing about spreading out your labor is that you don't have to do it all at once. Your body is making gradual progress which may help things go faster when it is really time. So that's something positive :)

    I understand your frustration.  I've been having symptoms like you've described for 3 weeks.  I'm 5cm dilated, almost 100% effaced, baby is engaged at station +1.  But I've basically been like that for a week.  Contractions every day, all day. 

    I'm so worried that once things really get going, I'm going to have almost no time to get to the hospital.

    This kid is going to drive me insane before she even gets here!
