C-section scheduled for Thursday- baby is BIG

Well, we found out some very surprising news this afternoon.  After my fundal height was measuring large last Thursday my doctor ordered a growth ultrasound yesterday and we got the results today.  Our baby boy is measuring 11lbs and my doctor is recommending a c-section for my and baby's safety.  I've been so upset all afternoon but am finally wrapping my mind around it.  I know that those ultrasounds can be off but still, 11lbs- crazy!  It's just all so confusing.  He's been measuring right on track the entire time until last week at my 39 week appt.  I seriously can't believe it but I know that as long as he's healthy, I don't care what he weighs.  

Would love hear any stories if you've experienced something similar! 

Me: PCOS   DH: No issues

August '16-January '17: Clomid + HCG + IUI/TI = BFN
February/March '17: Menopur + HCG + IUI = BFN
April '17: Menopur + HCG + TI (due to too many mature follicles) = BFN
May '17: Took off due to cysts
June' 17: Menopur + HCG + IUI = Cancelled due to 8+ mature follicles
November '17: Clomid + HCG + IUI= BFN
December '17: Menopur + HCG + TI= BFP!!!! Due August 2018

    Oh boy! I have to admit that I'm a bit concerned about the same thing happening with me. Two weeks ago my delivering doctor measured me as being 38 to 39 weeks (when I was 36 weeks along). I have an ultrasound this Thursday to check on positioning. I just have this feeling that my doctor might schedule me for a section based on his size or position. The appointment is almost an hour away so we'll be packing up the bags just in case I get sent to L&D from my appointment.

    So...no stories to share...but I do have similar concerns. (I had been measuring right on track until 32 weeks when I was measuring 1 week ahead).

    WOW!!! That is a little crazy, but you are right about wanting what is best for your safety and his. Will send you good thoughts and wishes. Soon you will be holding your baby boy!!

    I know growth u/s can be offf, but 11lbs is one big baby!! Good luck with your c-section, and keep us updated with pictures of that chubby little babe! My guy was measuring 8#6oz yesterday at 37 weeks, so I'm well on my way to having a chinker as well.

    Wow 11lbs! I will be honking of your and wishing you luck. I just had my second c section and as much as I did not want to have them, hey turned out all right. I'm just happy ds is here and healthy. Good luck!
