Is it silly to get your infant daughter an Easter basket? Probably. But they had the cutest baskets at Target and I remembered how when I was a kid my mom decorated baskets for us and we used the same ones every year. It was such a treat to see it again! So I got DD one, and a little fox plushie and some Easter books to put in it. Because she can't have candy or eggs I'll probably have to fill it with avocados, which she super loves.
Anyone else celebrating Easter? I can't wait until DD is old enough for egg hunts!
Re: Easter basket love!
That sounds adorable. I love the avocados idea. That would be an awesome pic, too. They are the right shape. You could put a few Easter stickers on them as decoration.
We got nothing for DS last year, but will probably do something this year (without candy or food). Maybe a book and a little stuffed animal.
There is an egg hunt in a nearby park the day before Easter, and they apparently have a special area for under-3s where the eggs are empty (to prevent inadvertent consumption and choking). DH thinks it sounds lame but if the weather is nice I'm totally bringing DS.

My DS will be definitely getting an Easter basket, I am just not quite sure what we will be putting in it yet. Dd got candy her first Easter, even though she was a month old, lol.
i can't wait for Easter egg hunting with her this year, last year she was sick on Easter, so she had no interest. I have an adorable picture of her crying in her pretty dress holding her basket and an egg.

That sounds adorable. Sometimes I have to remind myself to take their tears seriously!
Do it! Easter egg hunts are the best!
I figured if we had candy, DH and I would do her a big favor and eat it for her
Also, your mom sounds awesome.
I'm making an Easter Basket for DD. I've already bought the books and stuffed animal for it! My DH is Jewish, so we're putting a Passover book in there too!
Great idea though to put avocados in it! They are perfect egg subs!

I don't think it's silly at all. DS had an Easter basket for his first one and he was only 2 months old...so yeah : ) We are using the same one for him each year as well. It's a baby blue color with a cute green/blue/white ribbon around it.
We got him some Elmo candy holders (I guess they are supposed to be like Easter eggs but they are "Elmo eggs") since he is super into Elmo, some crayons, some "Cars" socks, just a tiny bit of candy, a new Sesame Street DVD....I can't remember if there was anything else. But I think his first year we gave him a stuffed plush bunny and an Easter book and maybe a rattle or something.

I want to do one, just have to convince DH that it's a cool idea. He celebrated/celebrates Easter but they never did Easter baskets.
Ours always were filled with a couple of books and a movie or pajamas and some chocolate.
My uncle is putting on an Easter egg hunt this year again and I'm super pumped. We are all so competitive!
Spring diapers would be adorable! I ordered DD some leggings ages ago from Alva, the ones with the bunny on the bottom, and now I am thinking I should save them for her basket as they haven't arrived yet anyway.
Yep.
We did her first egg hunt last year, it was fun. I think she'll be way more into it this year though.
I got her a basket last year and it will be filled every year. This year she's getting roller skates, a helmet, knee and elbow pads, a giant bubble wand, a stuffed bunny, bunny ears, and a small bit of candy.
Next year we will enter the lottery to try to get tickets for the egg roll at the White House.
