Owl had her last eval with the neuropsych back in November, we had the feedback meeting today and although Owl has made great strides since that eval, I'm still concerned.
Owl tested within the normal range for receptive language and gross motor, her lowest score was cognition (tested using Bayley). The neuropsych doesn't need to eval her again unless the school dist won't do an IQ test when she gets her IEP testing done (CA schools can't do IQ/cognitive tests on AA kids), she will do the test if the school dist refuses it. I am going to try to get away with saying she is Hispanic (she's mixed AA/Mexican) but that will only work if we've finalized the adoption before the eval, all of her paperwork now says AA/Mexican which would exclude her from the test.
She said that she doesn't think Owl is MR but that she is very likely low functioning. I've never heard of low functioning without it being tied to a dx (LF-ASD for example), we don't have a dx yet so now I'm as confused as ever.
Am I waiting for a dx to relate this "low functioning" to? Might we get a dx from the IQ and other IEP tests?
I feel like I'm completely in the dark here, I'm so lost.

Yes, she very well could have meant that, thanks Captain!
