When to start rice cereal?

Just wondeing when everyone started rice cereal and how much during the day?

my pedi told me between 4-6 mos. we are waiting until closer to 6.

I started with oatmeal cereal at pedi suggestions because gavin isn't much of a pooper and the rice cereal would only make things worse.

anywho...I started around 4 months and he eats 1 tbs of cereal in the morning and then 1tbs of fruit/veggie in evening before bath.

I waited until my pedi told I could start and then he gave me information on how to start and introduce cereal then veggies etc and how much.

Our pedi told us that we could start at four months. We were going to wait, but DS was showing the signs that he was ready for solids so we started early. (by early I mean 4 months and 5 days as opposed to 6 months.)

We just got the okay from pedi. I am planning on waiting til closer to 5 months. Pedi recommended one tbsp. in morning and one in the evening.

We just started this week...we only make a tablespoon because he is not really eating much yet. We want him get used to the idea of cereal.
