Co sleeping to crib

So I've always been down on myself from the moment we left the hospital about how I couldn't for the life of me get out LO to fall asleep in his crib, bassinet, or side sleeper. I always just assumed babies sleep in cribs. Well not C. Every time we put him in there his eyes would open instantly. I feel like we tried everything. He would sleep in his crib for 30 minutes or sleep with me for 5 hours. Sleep deprivation won out so he's been with us now for 4 months. Anyone else been doing this and successfully transition to the crib? Help!

Re: Co sleeping to crib

  • I just really don't want him in our bed forever. And I just think I might sleep better knowing he is in his own bed. SIDS scares me a lot and they push cribs so much. Also he is EBF and still wakes up twice a night and I wonder if its because he is right next to me and can smell me or something.

  • We started co sleeping for the same reason. He now sleeps in the bassinet of his pack and play in our room. We put him down for naps in his crib. At first he didn't nap long because it was unfamiliar. When he wakes up I rock him, calm him, put him back in his crib and turn on the mobile. He usually falls back asleep. I make sure my sitters do the same thing. He is doing better now.

  • I really appreciate the article. I know I have to do what works best for us. Just hope we could may be get some naps in the crib so the hubby and I could resume something that resembles intimacy again. Luckily he is super supportive. I'm the worrier!
