I went to the doctor today for my monthly appt. super excited and just waiting to make sure the LO was okay.
I had taken a BRCA test the last visit and figured everything was okay since I hadn't heard anything. Well today before I went to my appt. the doctor called to let me know she needed to speak with me about my BRCA testing results. My mom and dad joined me since I was a little concerned about what this meant. What was supposed to be an exciting "let's see how baby is doing" appointment turned into you have the BRAC 1 mutation and here are your options.
Basically, DH and I have to decide if we want to have another LO after this (God willing). My concern has always been as long as our LO is healthy- I'm happy and will think of having another one later. She explained that I would need to take preventative measures of screenings and possible surgery which could mean no longer having children or IVF. It was a lot to take in and a bit overwhelming.
(On top of that- last appointment she had mentioned having to do biopsy for abnormal cells. ) Has anyone had experience with BRCA or know anyone who has? I'm curious to hear about it and what they have done after finding this out.

I don't have any experience with BRCA but I just wanted to say I'm sending good thoughts your way!
