Just curious to know when you can start applying stretchmark cream after delivery? I know that time is the best for fading, but what do you use to speed it up and can you start soon after delivery?
Ive been using California Baby Emulsion stretch mark cream since my bump started growing. It has NO funky ingredients. Smile. At 39 weeks I have no stretch marks yet, although LO has gotten so big I think I may not be able to avoid a few small ones, but I'll take that over a lot of big ones! I use it 2x a day now bc I'm so big, I don't see myself changing that routine after delivery.
Moisturizing versus not moisturizing really has no bearing on the formation of stretchmarks. Stretchmarks are formed in a layer of the dermis that doesnt truly benefit from lotions, creams, or oils. Genetics does play a big role in whether you get them or not. Moisturizing obviously cant harm your skin but it wont prevent inevitable marking either. The stretchmark creams are a marketing ploy. Just sayin.
With my son during my pregnancy I couldn't see any stretch marks. I thought I was in the clear. As soon as I had him and took the first look down, whoa! There they were. For the first month after I didn't try anything. Then I decided to try Palmer's firming butter and by day 3 I noticed results right away. I used it every day until I ran out and felt that it definitely helped. But once you have them, they are there. It only helped the appearance.
Re: Postpartum stretchmarks
But I'd use virgin coconut oil or Bio Oil or something like that. Palmers I think is junky ingredients that don't really offer much. IMO.
FTM, so idk about the rest, but I have to say I agree about the Palmers!
