From whatIi understand the bromline can cause contractions. That being said, I've had it occasionally with both pregnancies and it never even correlated with my Braxton Hicks. I think people have varying levels of sensitivity to it. You are probably ok to have it in moderation unless there is a specific concern. Probably not a good idea if you are on bed rest for contractions.
I just looked it up to be extra sure and this is what I found...
Pineapple -
This myth is actually really misunderstood by most people who try it.
What gets generally suggested is 'fresh' Pineapple, but what is actually
effective is unripe Pineapple. Unripe pineapple is very pale yellow and
hard, not juicy or sweet at all and causes sharp stinging pain in your
mouth. In tropical countries young pineapple is used as an herbal abortifacient,
and it is said that in order to cause uterine contractions, one must
ingest 4-5 WHOLE unripe pineapples over the span of 2 days. Even so, if
the woman has a healthy and strong uterus, it may not work.
(testimonial) Hard to come across actual
unripe pineapples, especially the small, young ones used to cause
contractions. So I've had to settle for 2 large, not-quite-ripe
pineapples from the local grocery store. After eating the entire
pinapples myself, the only pains I felt afterwards were the stinging in
my mouth and a crampy stomach. No contractions, nothing even close to
labor.

Lol. Sounds a bit like the suggestion to take casteroil to induce labor. Sure MAYBE it will work if you take enough that it upsets you're stomach so bad that you give yourself gnarly diarrhea. If it does happen to "work" you were probably about to begin labor anyways and now you have horrible stomach issues to kick things off!
Oh enjoy your pineapple! I know I do I have 24 slices all because my baby has been craving nothing but fruits. And I enjoy those pineapple slices almost an addiction. I had no experience with contractions. It figures the one fruit I can eat without an allergic reaction is one that may cause labor. But listen I am not going by that OWT I am sticking to what I want and so far no worries here :
Ok so apparently I cannot write what I want! I don't consume 24 slices I consume two to four slices! Why cannot I now put the dash between the 2 and the 4? Oh well LOL
Yep. I don't eat it every day, but I do enjoy it once in a while, even though my mom found read somewhere that it's supposed to be bad for you. My cousin who is pregnant and lives in Africa eats pineapples literally every single day and her baby is doing just fine (so did her first)!
Re: Probably a dumb question
Me too! Just ate half a pineapple to myself yesterday.
