Can we tell campfire ghost stories please?

The title pretty much sums it up.

I want to hear your scary stories!

My mom watched DS while I was at the doctor yesterday, when I got back we were sitting around talking and she told me about something my little brother used to do when he was little that I entirely forgot about.

When he was about 3 years old, he used to say things to my mom like "Mommy, I'm a big boy now, but before that I was a baby, and remember before that when I was a big boy before, I did..." fill in the blanks. And he would INSIST that he had been a big boy before he was a baby, and spoke, in detail about what he did as a big boy before. And the stories never changed, like you would expect them to with a 3 year old. He was such a little creep:S

My baby brother also sleep walked. One time he walked into my moms bedroom, middle of the night, and she woke up to him standing over her. She told him to go back to bed, and he said "I can't mommy, there's a man in the hallway". Talk about a scary wake up call.

Another sleep walking time I woke up to somebody standing in my bedroom doorway (it was dark and all I could see was about a 6 foot shadow as this was when my brother was a giant gangly 14 year old). I sat bolt up, and he ran through the house and I found him sleeping on the couch.

I guess those aren't ghost stories. Just insanely creepy encounters with my insanely creepy brother lol but I want to hear your scary stories!

Re: Can we tell campfire ghost stories please?

  • When I was in elementary school, I had a friend whose little brother used to do the exact. same. thing (the stories about being big before) and it also started when he was three!! Her name was Megan though so I'm guessing you're not her Stick out tongue He would tell VERY detailed and consistent stories about being a pilot in the war. No one knew where he was coming up with all his information and it was super creepy!

I'm gonna stay away from this thread now... I already have enough weird dreams!

  • Creepy!

I have a couple. My mom has always had weird shiz happen at her house. Things have been going on for as long as I can remember. The one that scared me the most when I was younger was one morning when my mom woke up, she had an outrageous number of missed calls on her cell phone. They came in about every 2 minutes all night long. She pulled up the call log, and they were all from her private phone line in our house. She didn't even have that number in her phone. They have seen shadows and have had doors slam for no reason...typical ghost stuff.

I always thought she was nuts. I never believed in that kind of thing. About two years ago, I was over there and she was researching ghost hunters. I told her I thought it would be a huge waste of money and that they were a joke. I also said that everything could be explained away if she thought hard enough about it.

That night, I drove home and went inside. My husband was still at work so I was alone with my dog. I was in our bathroom brushing my hair, and there was a bang on the wall from our office (it shares a wall with our shower) so loud that it knocked all of my shampoo bottles down. My dog ran out of the bathroom and started scratching at the office door. I was shaking so bad. I grabbed my hot curling iron and opened the door (like an idiot.) I couldn't see anything in the room, so I left the light on and ran outside with my dog to call my husband. I was looking at the office window from where I was standing (the blinds were closed) and the light shut off with nobody inside.

I called my husband pretty much hysterical. He left work early and came home to check in the house. I have no clue why I didn't just call the cops...but whatever. He assured me that nobody was inside so I followed him back in. Our washer, dryer, and dishwasher were all running. I hadn't started any of them. They were all empty.

After that night, we had about 2 weeks of chaos. We had pictures falling off the walls, clothes falling off hangers, rooms my dog refused to walk into, lights turning off and on, the works. I even have an antique jewelery box that was completely smashed into pieces when I woke up one morning.

One day it all just stopped. I have never had anything like that happen again. I will never say I don't believe.

Dude, I would have left that house so quick, and never gone back. That is so terrifying!

  • Wow, those are creepy!! I have never had these experiences but even if I heard random noises I would just attribute them to our neighbors since we are in a condo.

If not, I'm sending the ghoulies to your house when they're done with me lol

  • So we use to live in military housing and it was the oldest housing area on post. We had 3 bedrooms. The middle room the dogs would never, ever go in. They'd stop at the door way and just stare. They'd watch the ceiling and their heads would go back and forth like they were following something. When we would have party's at the house, pictures would always fall off the walls. Even if we were all outside, we'd come in and pictures would be on the ground. Also in that middle bedroom, things would always fall over. Like we had bar stools in there cause DH and his buddies would play guitars in there. The stools would always randomly tip over. I'd walk past the room and they would just fall. They always had to retune their guitars in that room. Like if DH kept his guitar in our bedroom or the living room it was fine, but put it in that middle room and it was so off

Umm I am terrified right now, thank you very much! What the heck!!

I don't have many stories aside from my cat following or chasing random, non-visible objects around the house or staring and meowing at a corner of the room when there is nothing there. I also, for maybe about the first 7-8 months of JB's life, felt like there was something upstairs. His room and the guest room and loft are up there, and whenever I would go upstairs, especially in the middle of the night, I always felt like something was watching me. One night I even heard the noise of clothes shuffling, like when you walk, coming down the hallway, and also creaks up the stairs. I thought it was DH, but no one was there :( It stopped for some reason, maybe because I prayed and prayed in the name of Jesus for any demons or whatever to leave my little boy's room!

  • My first year of high school, I went to a boarding school. The building that it was in was a mishmash of architecture from over the years, but the boarding area was in the oldest part of the building, built in the late 1800's.

The first weekend I was there, I was lying in my bunk in that sort of half awake, have asleep state. But then I woke up as I heard footsteps in the hall, and then there was a man's voice saying "Are you girls alright in here?" and the light that had been coming through the door got less. I remember mumbling something, like you do when you've just woken up, and then the door closed. I was surprised, as men were absolutely not allowed in the building after hours, but I had been so close to sleep that I just fell back into it.

In the morning, I thought it had been just a dream.

About two weeks later, some of the older girls were telling us ghost stories about the school, and one of the stories was that the Bishop who had been headmaster when it was first built died in the chapel rather suddenly and his ghost had haunted the place since. Part of the story was that he used to go through the dorms to check on the girls after lights out.

If I'd heard the story before what I'd experienced, I would have just figured that's where the dream came from, but having that happen before I heard the story?

Freaked me out. But it never did happen again.
