My Lo used to be very vocal, she was making all kinds of sounds, saying goo and squeeling. I have noticed over the last few weeks, this has significantly decreased. I posted earlier about hearing concerns and I am wondering if there really is an issue. The doctor looked at me a bit concerned when I said she hadn't laughed yet. All of a sudden the babbling has stopped and the only thing she says is somethin to the effect of aaaa and a lot of grunding type sounds. Seh is not longer saying goo and squealing. She has been sick for about a month with a cold now and I am wondering if that might have something to do with the decrease in "talking". The worse part is, she is with my mom all day so I only get to see her for about an hour each day during the week, so I don't really have a good idea of her vocalizations. Am I crazy for being worried. I have three firiends with babies her age and they are laughing sometimes, and continuing to aquire new sounds.
Re: how vocal is your lo
Have you asked your mom what she is seeing and hearing?
Is it possible your LO has an undetected ear infection?
What happens when their is a loud noise? Does she notice?
I would talk to the Pedi about your concerns.
