Finding a Nanny

DH and I are thinking we'd like to do a nanny for a year after I go back to work after maternity leave (we'd consider a nanny share but haven't identified any friends/neighbors who would work). Would appreciate advice on the best way to find a nanny -- are there particularly good websites for searches? Thanks for your help!

    What area are you looking to possibly do a nanny share? We were thinking of doing something similar in the Del Ray/Old Town area of Alexandria.

    DC Urban Moms and Dads website has a great forum for finding nannies and nanny shares. I strongly recommend you check them out! Also, if someone feels like paying the fee, Care.com has their folks go through background checks.
