City Select Double vs. BumbleRide Indie Twin

I'm trying to decide what would be best.  I like the tandem look of the CS, but I like that my kids could be side-by-side in the BR.  Anyone have any pros/cons to add?

fyi - I'll have a 21 month old and a newborn.

Re: City Select Double vs. BumbleRide Indie Twin

  • LOVE my Indie Twin.  I used the City with a nanny baby and it's a total poc in my opinion.  The Indie Twin is way nicer! :)

  • I'm getting the CS. Mostly because I don't have room for multiple strollers in my condo. Currently all we use in an umbrella. When the new baby is born DS will be 26 months. I'm sure he'll be in a stroller sometimes, but not all the time. So I don't want something that will forever be a double. I like that I can use the CS as a stroller frame, single, or double.  Also, I've heard complaints about it being difficult to push, but I've heard that's more so the case when the heavier kid is in the front (which is what I'll be doing at first). But when the heavier kid is in the back it's better. Also, I'm going to be going from pushing an 11 pound umbrella with a 30 pound toddler, to pushing at 30 pound stroller, 30 pound toddler, 8-9 pound baby, and 10 pound car seat (I don't remember what a carseat weighs), all in a line. So of course it's going to be more difficult to push.

  • I've registered for the BR.

I wanted a side-by-side so that the kids wouldn't fight over the better seat later and so that they could be buddies and sit next to each other. I've also heard that the tandem design isn't any easier to push.

The reason I chose the BR is because I'm spoiled by my BOB single stroller on maneuverability. I wanted something that would push as easily as possible but was a little more customizable and looked a little less beast-like than the BOB double.

The different Baby Jogger strollers I've tried, while perfectly nice strollers that I would consider if I had the budget and room for more strollers, were not as easy to maneuver as I was looking for. From everything I've read, you can't go wrong with a BR.

  • No experience with BR but I had a CS and hated it, even as just a single it was super   heavy.  Luckily I was able to sell it quickly and didn't lose too much $, but I couldn't imagine dealing with it for two kids.

  • personally, we LOVE the City Select for our newborn and 2 year old. I liked the tandem better than side-by-side, but I think that's just personal preference.

  • we were considering the Britax B Ready over the BJCS because the extra seat is at the back, not the front. It makes it supposedly much easier to steer.

    I still can't get behind a side-by-side....
