Uppababy Cruz vs BJ City Versa

If anyone has either of these can you tell me what you love/don't love about it? These are the top 2 contenders and I haven't had a chance to test the Versa out in person yet. TIA!

Re: Uppababy Cruz vs BJ City Versa

  • This is the same question I've been struggling with.  I LOVE the Versa, it handles really well and folds so easily.  However, I really love the features on the new Uppababy Mesa infant car seat that is coming out in April.  Right now BJ doesn't have an adapter for the Mesa infant seat, but it would snap right into the Cruz.  Decisions, decisions...

  • I bought a versa on sale. I'm still pregnant so haven't gotten to use it however here are the things I like so far:

    reversible seat

super easy fold (with seat facing forward OR reversed)

huge basket, with a curved bar for easy access.

    Easy to adjust handles

    Hand break

    super compact when folded

4 wheel suspension seems like it would allow for a smooth ride

the britax car seat adapter seems like it should just clip in (haven't gotten it yet)

    things I don't like:

when I fold it, I have to carry it, you can't really drag it with the wheels because they don't lock when folded (unless I just haven't figured it out).

Its heavy. We were debating between the versa and the vista so it would have been heavy either way.

In the end we went with the versa because it was on sale and sooo easy to fold.

I have the Cruz and love it. I loved the reversible seat when she was smaller; HUGE basket, which is awesome; easy fold, but not incredibly compact; adjustable handlebar is great because I'm short and DH is tall; the extendable sun canopy is awesome; handles well on grass; and great customer service (our adjustable handle bar broke and they sent us a brand new frame, no questions asked). Plus it just looks cool. :)

    this....we Love our Cruz!

Same.  Highly recommend it!!  Light weight and easy access.  We are currently using it with the chicco keyfit infant seat and their adaptor...and can't wait to use the actual Cruz seat.

So glad to hear about the Chicco adapter, as that is what we would need. Does it feel really secure? How does it attach to the frame? Does the carseat just click in and then release as if it were in the car seat base or snap and go? And can you leave the adapter on the frame when you fold?

Definitely very secured.  It is a snap and go just like the car seat base ('click').  Yes, you can leave the adapter on the frame when you fold up the Cruz.  Very easy. Btw, if you do decide on the Cruz, I use my Bob's Handle bar cup holder/zipper pouch for the Cruz as well.  I use it for both my strollers.
