We are considering the name Theodora or Teodora.  How do you pronounce the short form Thea?  I have heard it Theeah and Taya.  I considered a completely different spelling but I do not love inventive spelling and want to stay true to the meaning of the name.  She will be Teddie to us but I also like Thea too as she gets a bit bigger. I know it isn't the most popular name on here but we love it.

 *I am leaning more towards a Taya pronounciation...is that a made up version of it?  I am reading on the internet it can be either way but I don't want to be one of those people who make up names!

    I think Theadora is pretty! And I like the nn Thea [Thee ah] a lot!!! Sounds girly and will age well too! Good luck!

    I prefer Thea as the full name. But I would pronounce it THEE-uh.

    We pronounce my daughter's name Thee-uh. I don't think the Taya pronunciation makes sense with Theodora.
