Baby Fashion Police

Not really, but that would be awesome.  Some people dress their babies a hot mess.

My question is really, what does your baby wear now for a typical day?  (Also, what do baby's activities consist of?)

Also, just because I'm curious, does your baby wear shoes?

Bird usually wears an actual outfit to school.  Onesie for an undershirt, pants, and a sweater or shirt.  He has school from 9am-3pm, where he does weird smart baby things I'm sure (but probably just plays in an exersaucer and naps).  The ladies in the extended care room always change him into a sleep and play, which he stays in until bedtime.  I feel like it's comfier for him to play on his mat or tummy time.

And yes, he wears shoes.  I understand they're useless.  I just like shoes.

Re: Baby Fashion Police

  • Most of the week N goes to daycare, so we do get him dressed. Usually onesie, pants, cute hat and socks. He doesn't go in shoes. The only time he has worn shoes was for his Easter pics.

  • I learned early on that I hate the standard onesies. Unfortunately we have a ton of them, thankfully most were 2nd hand so we did not pay a lot for them. Until recently D spent most days in a sleep n play.

Now that I have found onesies that snap all the way down the front and the creepers that Carter's makes I put him in those when we are going out. No shoes, but socks when we go out.

  • I dress her everyday, usually an adorable outfit but only because we were gifted so many clothes I feel like we need to use them if only for one time.

we are home most of the day aside from errands and a walk with the dogs but she plays on the mat, naps and eats.

We also have the socks that look like shoes but she is very good at kicking off socks so we usually put booties on her because she can't get them off and they keep her feet warm. Also we have about 6 pairs of "uggs" for her so we try to put those on sometimes, again just to use the stuff we were gifted. I agree that shoes are useless but sometimes they just complete the outfit!

  • Even though K stays home with me, she is always in an outfit. Sleep and plays are only used as pajamas. I am kinda freaky about clothes. I will not leave the house in yoga/sweat/pajama pants. I agree with Seinfeld for the fact it looks like you have given up. So I feel K should get "real clothes" as well. I will splurging on some shoes tonight. I will also be buying material to make bibs that match her outfits.

  • K wears an actual outfit if we are going somewhere. Usually just socks. He does rock Pumas when they match an outfit I put on him. He mostly wears sleep and plays around the house. I gravitate toward comfies. As soon as I get home from work I put comfy pants on, so why shouldn't K be comfy, right? Also I wanted to see how many times I could say comfy.

    Comfy.

Audrey wears a sleeper every day. I only dress her up when we go to church or out in public.

I hate baby socks and baby shoes.

I love that you call it "school". We do too, we also get a daily "report card" that lists her naps, diapers, bottles and little things she does. I love it.

  • On days Noah goes to my mom's and the babysitters, he wears a real outfit. The days he stays home with SO, he stays in a sleeper. And SO prefers that it's one with a zipper. I know it's easier for SO to change N when he's in a sleeper so that's what I do. N does sometimes wear shoes, now that his feet are finally big enough to fit shoes, but often times it is his booties that a friend knitted for him. Really the shoes/booties are just to help keep socks on. I'm ordering a pair of those Zutano booties someone mentioned the other day because well they are adorable and practical! I like dressing N in little outfits and making him look cute. SO calls N my lifesize baby doll, and well he kinda is!

  • Hallie usually has on a long sleeve onesie and sweatpants. Sometimes a onesie and sleeper. Socks with sweatpants. Shoes when we dress up for stuff like church.

  • Because we had SO SO many clothes given to us, DS gets dressed in a shirt or onesie and pants everyday, whether or not we leave the house. It isn't really possible, but I've been trying to have him wear all of his clothes at least once. We haven't had to buy any for him so far, and we won't have to until he's a little over a year old.

  • R always wear an outfit. I buy lots of Carter's sets with coordinating pieces, so SAHD DH has less of a chance of messing it up. Smile Overall, he does a great job getting R dressed.

R usually wears a cute onesie and pants set with socks. If it is cold, he will wear a jacket or sweater and maybe a hat. Shoes on a baby are pointless IMO. He is growing so fast I wouldn't want to waste money on them. He only wears sleepers at bedtime.

  • During the week, B wears either a sleep and play or a onesie, pants and socks set when he is at the sitters.  She swears he can almost crawl without socks on so usually when i pick him up he's down to a onesie when it's warm enough.  To be honest, I always put him to bed in something that he can either wear to the sitter, or put him in a onesie and lay out pants to put over it that will work - Daddy takes him in the mornings, and 9 times out of 10, I pick him up in what I left him in!!   He does not wear shoes to the sitter - but does always wear socks that look like shoes, as well!  (And I am a little obsessed with baby shoes - useless or not - so he does wear shoes for our weekend outings!)

  • When we take Asa out I try and put him in an actual outfit, but if Mamma's lazy he goes in a sleep and play. Same with Daycare. At home I usualy keep him in a sleep and play for comfort, but DH loves to dress him up, so if I don't change him DH will. He wears socks, no shoes, but we also have the socks that look like shoes and have him wear those. At day care I'm sure he does lots of fun stuff, and at home we do play mat time (back time and tummy time), bouncy seat time, and I love to read to him. His favorite book is Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. I also show him all of his stuffed animals and tell him what is special about each animal. He loves his buffalo and I don't know why he picked that one, but he smiles the most with buffalo :)

  • W is in sleep and plays all the time.  ALL the time!  I only "dress" him for company or if we're visiting someone.  Pathetic, and I need to up my game.  He's got so many cute clothes!

  • Most days (at home) I keep B in his sleep sack until after his first nap which is around ten.

Then I change him into a "real" outfit, mostly because he's growing so fast and I want to see him wear them.

He will stay in that until bath time and then I put him in a onsie and sleep sack or sleep and play.

B likes to be on his activity mat or hang out in his Bumbo or Jumperoo. You know, baby stuff.

We have shoes but he rarely wears them right now. They are so cute though!

  • Sleep n play / one piece. It's just so much more practical and I think it's comfy for him. When I do two pieces the shirts ride up and he won't keep socks on. Daycare let's him go without instead of putting them back on and his feet are like blocks of ice. I was thinking of putting robeez on him so he can do some two piece outfits. He has the cutest stuff but I go with what seems comfy for him. I don't want anything restrictive or rough on him.

He's at daycare all day long.

  • Andrew wears sleep and plays all day. They seem so comfy, I wish I could get away with wearing them. I do get him fully dressed when we're going somewhere. I usually skip the shoes but I have a good friend who is a buyer for Spencer's and she loves to get him the cutest pairs. My husband loves to put him in the checkered Vans, you can see them in my siggy.

The hubby has a thing for Vans but I love Chucks! I have a pair for the baby but they don't fit him just yet.

Thank you! I think your baby has the sweetest little face. They could definitely be friends. :)

  • A wears dresses or onesies with pants most days. It's been really hot here so she usually doesn't wear socks and I've never put shoes on her, though I should because she has so many cute ones.
  • imageredwood807:

W has a full length gown with matching tiara and heels for every day of the week.

JK, she's usually in a onsie and pants. No shoes: she can't walk

This made me laugh really hard. Best response ever.

  • Henry wears a long sleeved onesie with sweatpants and socks that look like socks.

I don't buy sleep and plays anymore. They fit him for 2 weeks and then he is too tall. He fits in pants for longer. I think shoes are stupid, but I hate wearing shoes so I could be projecting.

  • At night she wears a onsie so I've given up on sleep n plays mostly. I have 3 right now for particularly cold nights but we can't get much sleep when she wears them. So during the day it's ALWAYS an outfit with a matching headband.... You know with a big flower? I'm that mom. Also she wears barefoot sandals I got from etsy. I have them in black white and pink. If none of those match then no shoes ever!!

I love the report card. I look forward to it every day. It's like getting real mail...so exciting! For example, today I learned that A: Didn't poo, but peed nonstop Had some really stinky gas Laughed at the octopus on the jungle gym Rolled from side to side

It is like getting real mail. I love it.

I am saving my favorites in her baby book.

"Played with jungle gym, will be doing pullups soon"

    "BM!! out of diaper"

    "quite the little chatterbox today"
