Misery loves company- vent

In the last week or two, I went from comfortable to extremely uncomfortable. I can't sleep, back aches and when I do wake up my whole body is in pain. And the vivid dreams are getting really strange and almost disturbing. I have carpal tunnel in my wrists so even typing this is painful. I have heartburn so bad now that I throw up. It's miserable. And to think I have a month to go, and I know DS will be worth it, but it's getting harder to keep focused on the prize at the end. The first time around wasn't nearly this bad.

So ladies, let's hear it. What are your complaints? Maybe that will make mine not seem so bad. Smile

  • Pretty much the same as yours! My shoes don't fit, my CTS (which was always a pain in the a$$) leaves my hand numb most of the time, even when I'm eating or working. The pressure in my hips makes it so hard to walk so I've taken on the full pregnancy waddle.

The worst part is feeling like I can't do anything. I feel like my baby is holding me hostage in my own body!

  • It feels like a knife goes from stabbing me in the ribs to stabbing me behind my shoulder blade.

And I second the heartburn thing... THANKFULLY it eased up this week, but last week was brutal.

  • I hear you on the heartburn!  When I don't eat, I feel awful, when I DO eat, I feel even worse.  I get nauseated after every meal no matter what I eat or how much.  And I get heartburn that hurts terrible!  I've gained 25# and my stomach is stretched so far the skin actually hurts.  I waddle everywhere.  I've started to get really achey when I lay on my left side at night, but when I lay on my right side I wake up with vomit in my mouth (sometimes I actually wake up choking on it).  While I'm tired of all this, I'm totally willing to take this to 40 weeks or more, however much time she needs.  But it sure is lousy.  Thanks for letting me vent!

  • I have the same EXACT complaints as you, especially the heartburn.  My ribs also feel like they are broken lol.  I'm glad I can vent to you all, I feel like I sound ungrateful when I vent to a person who's never been pregnant.

I can totally empathize with this! I actually cried this morning because I couldn't find shoes that fit and since I am still working I have to wear something somewhat decent. I finally found a crappy pair that I wore when I was pregnant with DD but they are really uncomforatble like my feet were differently shaped then or something.

I am crying right now trying to put my boots on! I'm working still too, and I'm on my feet a lot so it's really discouraging when they don't fit at the START of the day. I know what it's going to be like in 8-10 hours... ugh.

  • I made it through my normal painful contracting, out of breath, routine this morning so I could go to work for a few hours, and then preceded to pass out when I got to the car, and then wake up out if it and get sick all over the driveway. This was at 8:30, I'm just now feeling well enough to make it back up three floors to bed. doc says stay lying down, eat, drink and call if I still can't get up without being dizzy. Yay.

  • Just the past two days have been my breaking point. I love being pregnant. I have never met anyone that enjoys it more than I do. My first pregnancy was a breeze. no issues, no aches and pains, it was wonderful.

But the past two days, ohh man. I think I have finally reached the point where I am "over" being pregnant. My back hurts. My hips creak and grind when I walk, and my legs feel like they are coming out of their sockets. ((Which they probably are since I have bad hips to begin with.) Last night I could not sleep AT ALL and the night before was really crappy sleep. My heartburn normally is OK to deal with, but whenever I'm in the car it's unbearable, I have pulled over to vomit a few times in the past 2 weeks. I don't know if it's the position I sit in when I'm driving or just the movement but I can't deal with it anymore. ((I started getting car-sick after DD was born, so I'm thinking it's a motion thing))

I still love feeling LO move, and am still in awe with the thought of creating my little baby from my own body... it's just amazing. But I'm over it.

I have a chiropractor appt tomorrow that I am counting down the hours for and I'm really hoping it helps with my back and hips so I can get some sleep and feel happy again!

  • Maybe TMI but the pressure on my butt/colon/bladder is getting really uncomfortable. It feels like sometimes the baby is trying to come out of my butt. lol Like I constantly feel like I need to go, and I know I don't. I told my SO about this, trying to get him to understand what I'm feeling and why I'm constantly shifting in my seat and he was like Indifferent, "Baby, I'm glad it's you. I couldn't do it." Other than that I'm tired of the, "Whoa, you got big," comments and the contractions I had last Thursday are terrifying me of what's to come.

  • We went to the gym yesterday and I was walking on the treadmill and my stomach kept bumping into the front of the treadmill - wtf? FIL pointed out last week that I wasn't doing the pregnant waddle yet when they came over for dinner. So nice of him. But it's getting tougher to lean over into the washing machine to get stuff and pick up stuff off the floor.

My hip pain when sleeping has gotten worse. I will get one really good night of sleep about every 3-4 nights now. I get irritable/cranky when I don't get my sleep so poor DH when LO arrives.

I find when I lay down to sleep - I start burping and it lasts all night long. And even tho I brush my teeth and use mouth wash it still tastes like dinner/dessert. This happens whether or not I drink something carbonated during the day. It's even worse if I eat too much - I feel like i'm on the border of puking. Not sure where this extra gas is coming from all at once.

If I don't get my water intake - I will get BH contractions. Like when I sat on the couch most of the day yesterday and decided to empty the dishwasher I was getting contractions. Silly body.

  • I cried this morning because while I was trying to get my fat feet into my shoes my favorite pair of maternity pants split open. My husband thought it was funny...me not so much Sad
  • This is the perfect day for this thread for me!!!

As of today, I can't wear even my wedding band anymore so that's pretty depressing. I've been really lucky about having regular bowel movements, but out of no where i have the worst hemorrhoids. I know its normal, but its so embarrassing and I have that GBS swab next week :( TMI I know, but who else can I vent to about these kinds of things??

Also these BH's are ramping up so that's pretty great.

Hope you ladies are feeling better than I do today!

  • I'm with you on the heartburn, nothing seems to help it and it makes me feel so sick.  Hip pain, preterm contractions that never seem to go away, oh and a giant fibroid sitting right on top of my uterus that hurts like someone stabbing me with a burning knife whenever I'm up too much.  And I cry.  Like all the time.

    It's just so magical.

  • I haven't been able to wear my rings since 20 weeks, my feet look like pig feet, I have a gallstone the size of a golf ball stuck in my gallbladder which mean I can't eat anything with fat or anything that tastes good.

  • Pretty much the same except for the carpal tunnel! My groin hurts so bad I can't even lay down and be comfortable. And I'm really not enjoying my wide humongous nose and newly acquired fat face. Boo!!!
