Parenting after a Loss

Stupid TB & Polls

Well, I'm actually at my computer while DD naps and I wanted to post a couple of clicky polls, but the freaking bump won't do anything when I click the poll button.  Sometimes I really hate TB, and I wonder why I'm so addicted if it sucks so much.

If anyone wants to answer my polls non-clicky style, here are some Qs:

1. On PAL, are you a regular poster, occasional poster, rare poster, or lurker only? (Yes, lurkyloos, feel free to show yourselves!)

2. How often do you vacuum? (This one comes courtesy of a random conversation I had with someone.) Everyday, every other day, twice a week, once a week, every other week, once a month, once a year, or never?

Feel free to add more random questions ladies!

Re: Stupid TB & Polls

  • 1. Somewhere between occasional and regular.  Maybe I could be described as a regular poster on occasional days of the week!

    2. I'd like to say once a week, but that would only be true sometimes.  So I guess somewhere between every 1-2 weeks.  I'm actually much better now that LO is on the floor all the time.

  • 1. Occasional poster.  I was pretty active on my BMB, but it's taken a turn for the worse, so I've been back here more often.

    2. I don't vacuum nearly as much as I should.  I could (and probably should) vacuum every day, but I really do it every few days.

ETA: I have 2 cats and a dog.

    2. A pathetic amount. When ds plays on the floor, I'll do it more often. Right now I'm lucky if I vacuum when I'm having company and you can see the dog fur...

  • 1.) It's been really slow here for a long time. I was a very regular poster and I made several efforts to revive the board when it died, then I got bored and now generally just respond if there are relevant posts I can contribute to.

2.) Every week. B is still tornadoish when she eats, so I have to vacuum at a minimum under her seat/the table or it is nasty.

    1.  Occasional poster, more regular now.  My activity fell off when I discovered FB and came back due to the need to stalk friends who gave FB up for lent.  I think I will continue to be here regularly because there are others not on FB that I have missed.

    2. I should vacuum every day because we have two cats.  I end up vacuuming once a week.  This only pertains to the living room.  Every other room in the house only gets vacuumed once a moth when the cleaners come.  I hate to vacuum and can't wait for DD to be big enough to do it.

  • 1.  Somewhere between occasional and regular. After the Facebook exodus, it got really quiet around here.

    2.  We have all HW or tile floors with room rugs, and vacuum those twice a week.  We swiffer or vacuum the floors where DS spends the most time (kitchen and his play area in the living room) basically every day to keep the mess down.

    I just realized I didn't answer!

    1. Regular poster, plus I spend a ridiculous amount of time lurking on TTCAL, 6, and PgAL, since it's so slow here and I don't FB. I stay away from non AL boards though. I've learned my lesson.

    2. Every other week, but only because that's when the cleaning lady comes. Between a DD that must be interacted with at.all.times, and using all naps to pump and clean bottles, I don't have the time to eat, much less vacuum.

With three dogs, I should do it more often, but it stays suprisingly clean, especially in the gated off nursery. Of course, it may just be my point of view, as we used to have dalmatians that shed small rabbits daily. After they passed we got beagles who shed a lot less. We're going to get more dalmatians again, but not until toddler years are over. Hopefully I'll have time to clean more by then.

    Hi Mork!!! :D

    1) lurker with occasional to rare posting.  I really should post more!

    2) Wait...i'm supposed to vacuum???  LOL  Usually once a week or so.  Sometimes not that often because I am a terrible housekeeper and I forget.  In my defense, We have no pets, and I always put a blanket on the floor when I put Alice down.  So the carpet doesn't get *terribly* disgusting.

  • 1. I just started lurking, I am trying to post a bit.

    2. I vacuum every other day.  But once my maternity leave ends it will become less frequent.

  • I post on PAL more than anywhere else. I was on mobile during my leave so I lurked and occasionally posted but now that I'm back to work, I might post more if I'm not too busy. I lurk on the BMB occasionally and rarely post there.

Vacuum...I would say the living room rug gets vacuumed up to two times in a two week period.  DS absolutely hates it! He runs to the couch and covers his ears. Seriously, how long is that going to continue? He is afraid of the hair dryer, vacuum, my husband's referee whistle, and even going to McDonalds makes him a little wary because he freaked the one time he had to have his hands washed and run under the blow dryer in the McD's bathroom.

2- Probably once every other week or so.  I HATE our vacuum and we can't afford a new one right now, so I just ignore the fact that my carpet is a mess, lol.

  • 1. Occasional, I've never been one to start a lot of posts and there don't tend to be  a lot of posts on here so I find myself spending more time on other boards. That and having a baby has reduced my bump time.

    2. MH actually does the  vacuuming since I have a bad back but he doesn't do it very often and we have two dogs and a cat.... When I get frustrated with him saying he'll do it and never actually doing it I will take the vacuum out and start doing it myself and he'll come rushing over saying he'll do it. That's pretty much the only way I can get him to do it without starting a fight over it unless we are having people over. I see this becoming a bigger problem when lo gets mobile.

  • 1. I go through phases but I'd say occasionally regular :

    2. Only once a week but with my dog I should every other day or so.

  • 1. I post on PAL occasionally, lurk often (just check PAL and 12-24m; dropped the birth board a couple months ago) 2. I vacuum once a month downstairs and once every three months upstairs, more if needed - DH has been doing the "more". We have 1 toddler, 1 cat, and live in a semi-arid region.

I'm on here pretty much every day--I think I probably post at least once every day.  I would say that with the speed of this board, that would make me a regular poster :)

  • 1) Horribly sporadic poster. My school and work schedule leave minimal time to even lurk anymore. I has a sads.

    2) Whenever I get time. There's no regularity to it. I hate it because my kid spills everything on the floor and stepping on crumbs drives me BSC. But again, my school and work schedule leave minimal time for... well anything other than work and school.

    2. Once a week to every other week. I really should do it every day, but it just doesn't happen. It's not just vacuuming I slack on, it's cleaning the whole house. Again, there just aren't enough hours in the day...
