So I called the Dr I am switching to from my current Dr. They will still accept me
. When I called my old Dr. they said not to worry about the insurance and them being out of network, but I explained that my FI and I talked last night and he's more comfortable with me giving birth closer to home. So we will still be switching. Well, they are going to fax my records right away (not sure if it's cause my BFF's MIL is a nurse there) and file my 2 ob appointments with my insurance (the other appts were through Medicaid before I got insurance in January). She said the most I'll have to pay is the deductible of $60 per visit. I still don't think I'll have to pay that if I get 100% free prenatal care and they were your basic, "how are you, check the heartbeat" appointments. But we shall see. I'd rather get all of my $396 I've paid back. But honestly, I'll make it up in saved gas worst case scenerio...
So happy to be switching. Though I was attached to that hospital, I'm hearing good things about the one closer to me. And they have a birthing tub. Plus, this office I'm switching to has midwives on staff.
There always is a silver lining.
